Ethernet - The World of Communications

Multi-Connected World:-
We are living in a world where we are easily connected to each other and we don’t have problems in reaching each other whether being in long distances. There was a time while long distance communications were as difficult as crossing The Sahara (desert). Which was time-wasting too. But now we can easily remain in touch with the loved ones and business officials etc. The technology that has made all this communicating system easier for us is called the Ethernet.
The First thing that one must know regarding this is to find out that what actually Ethernet is? Well the problem is solved here.
Ethernet Is the family of Computer Networking which is used in LANs (Local Area Network) and MANs (Metropolitan Area Network) in common. It is most commonly used in connecting computers in office or home with a modem to provide them with internet Access. Network ready, LAN and LAN connection is totally based on Ethernet. They are nothing without the support of Ethernet.
Ethernet and Wireless:-
Most Important Part here is that Ethernet uses cables to build a connection between computer and modem, wireless is the counterpart of this technology, it is nothing without the help of Ethernet.

10/100/1000 Standards:-
The Transmit rate of 10/100 Ethernet is 10 and 100 Mbps. And the Maximum Speed of 10/100/1000 can’t exceed from 1Gbps. Ethernet is the technology used for providing he highest common speed between the sender and receiver.

History:-
One must be curious to find out the history of this awesome technology. Don’t worry that problem is also solved for your comfort.
Ethernet was basically invented in 1973 by Robert Metcalfe and David boggs at Xerox Parc. In the beginning it just ran at the speed of 3Mbps. Metcalfe got himself enjoined with Digital Equipment Corporation Through which he facilitated a joint venture with Intel and Xerox to develop. Thus Ethernet was commercially introduced in 1980. Ethernet Standard was finally approved by IEEE in 1983. Thus it became a higher bit rate provider in longer link distances.
